65 El Camino

You know cars have to be too expensive if they sit out with a 4 Sale sign for over 2 months. This 65 El Co caught my eye a couple months ago and one day we just had to stop and check it out. It is really a nicely done rod. I don’t know if its the original 327 or a newer 350 but the mill sports an Edelbrock high rise manifold and a Holley 600 cfm 4 barrel carb. In 1965, the El Camino’s options included two versions of the 327 cubic-inch small block, the high performance option had 300 horsepower, a higher compression ratio, a larger four-barrel carb and dual exhausts like this one. The El Camino was originally introduced in 1959 and was made for 1 year. Chevy re-launched the car in 1964 based on the Chevelle chassis. This 65 looks fine with the factory chrome wheels and knock offs. Its a nice ride and worth it if you got the bucks. I wouldn’t mind throwing my board in the back and headin’ for Sandy’s in it. I’m sure it would turn some heads. (Click on photo for larger image)
